Remember back in August 2009 when Gundam was in Odaiba, an artificial island in Tokyo Bay?
Back then, my friends and I were pretty lucky to be able to see it before they took it down. But guess what? They put it back up again, this time in DiverCity Tokyo, a new shopping mall.
The rainbow bridge looks amazing.
I went back to Odaiba this time with my new friends--schoolmates from

Happiness In Cupcakes (H.I.C.)
Yesterday, I received a sweet surprise! Guess what this box contained.
This box was sent to Manila Foodistas by Meg from Happiness In Cupcakes. Happiness in Cupcakes, or fondly known as HIC, is a home baking venture selling cupcakes that are infused with alcohol. Yes, you heard it right!
It was the first time I saw a cupcake with a bacon topping! (Above)
Their cupcakes are available as

Therese in Taiwan: Rabbit Rabbit 兔子兔子
My cousins and I love going to Shida night market because we like how despite it being not too tourist-y, there's still a wide variety of yummy food, and the clothes are pretty (and there's a good mix of expensive and inexpensive ones) too!
One night, before heading to the night market, we wanted to have a sit-down dinner. I wanted to try Rabbit Rabbit because they serve Eggs Benedict and that

Modern Cookbook: Yummy Filipino Recipes iPad App
Marielle Ebao
I enjoy watching cooking shows and occasionally browsing through recipe books to find dishes I can try out for myself. I look for ones that are easy to prepare, since I am usually a disaster at the kitchen. The problem is, once I see something I'd like to try, most ingredients cannot be bought locally, or are too expensive for everyday meals. Luckily, Summit Media recently

Therese in Taiwan: Macho Tacos 瑪丘墨式餅舖
In a previous post, I mentioned this Mexican restaurant called Macho Tacos that is also located around the Shida district. I've eaten here twice, once during my birthday (last December), and another last May!
There aren't a lot of Mexican restaurants around Taipei, so coming here to satisfy our Mexican food cravings is perfect! It's also near our place, so that's a plus!

First off, thank you Breakfast Magazine, Mr. Jorge, and Chef John Joseph for a gratifying Wine Museum experience! It was such a treat!
Wine Museum is an establishment composed of a hotel, a restaurant, and a wine education centre. A visit here is definitely worth it because the food is good and NOT too expensive, the people are nice, and the wines

One Year at Casa Roces
Kape Chino @ Casa Roces July 25, 2012
By: Martin Cruz
I don’t think I’ve ever been to a place quite like Casa Roces, at least in Manila. The old mansion of the Roces clan-cum-bistro, cafe, and art gallery is a watering hole that even the politicos of the Malacañan Palace across the street visit with frightening regularity, so much so that only a quarter of the place’s clientele are

Therese in Taiwan: Coffee Alley 咖啡弄
It's in the second floor of this building beside Uniqlo
Coffee shops are abundant around Taipei, probably because of their culture of drinking "afternoon tea" (or in this case, afternoon coffee?)
My cousins and I went to Coffee Alley a couple of months back (yeah, I have a ton of backlog)
because we wanted to try their waffles.

Field trip to Nikko Tosho-gu
By: Tiffy
As far as I've been told, the Student Affairs Section of the University of Tokyo holds field trips once a semester. Last month, I was fortunate enough to have been selected (they raffle off spots) to go to the field trip to Nikko Tosho-gu, one of the more famous shrines in Japan.
Despite the fact that it was pouring, there were still so many people

Tiffy in Japan: Kabuki and Shrimp
What I love about my school is that they sponsor trips and give us tickets to shows too.
(Sign says: The University of Tokyo Kashiwa Campus)
Last month, they provided 70 international students with tickets to the Kabuki, a classical Japanese drama
The pace of the drama is really slow. So much so that it's not surprising to see several heads nodding and people falling asleep. But one of

Have you ever heard of honey toast? A better question is, have you ever eaten honey toast? If you haven't, head on over to Dazzling Café and order one!
One of my classmates posted a picture of her eating honey toast, and because it looked really good, I invited my cousins to eat out with me. The good thing about Dazzling Café is that they accept reservations (although you might have to wait a

When one of our uncles came to Taiwan for a short vacation, some of my cousins and I took the opportunity to try out new restaurants. One of the places we went to is Skylark California Steak & Grill 加州風洋食館.
For dinner, you can choose to upgrade an a la carte order

I looooove mangoes so I was thrilled to have a taste of this cake.
The base of this cake was interesting. Made of crushed graham, nuts, and I think I tasted rice krispies there too, its texture was chewy and its taste was somehow similar to sans rival. It reminded me a bit of my childhood - for two seconds, I had an Antoine
